I am a DSWA qualified professional instructor in the craft and art of dry stone walling. I deliver courses to people from all backgrounds ranging from those who simply wish to understand the magic, those with urgent walling repairs and those who are starting on the journey to becoming dry stone walling practitioners. Most people have a personal interest in learning the craft in order to undertake garden projects or repairs to their own walls. Sometimes have ambitions to build new stone features.
All have a fascination to discover how walls can be built without mortar, strong and safe with a future life. Well-built dry stone walls last at least for decades, many for centuries, some for millennia in the case of ancient monuments across the UK and the globe.
I can be booked to deliver courses to small groups of individuals, for council rangers and community environmental groups. I have delivered practical courses for school children, some of whom may have hurdles to overcome with desk based academic learning. A practical delivery can deliver great benefits.
I also deliver bespoke training for individuals who need an initial understanding of the techniques required to start their own projects, often transformational.
